The G-Class Is "Stronger Than Time"

At this year’s Northern American International Auto Show (NAIAS), luxury marques were not the only astounding exhibits. To celebrate its latest launch, Mercedes-Benz installed the “world’s biggest installation of synthetic resin” featuring the 280 GE, released in 1979, on display inside. The “Stronger Than Time” display weighs in at 44.4 tons and took some 90 days to complete.

“The amber cube puts the uniqueness of the G-Class in a nutshell,” explains Dr. Gunnar Güthenke, head of the off-road vehicle product unit at Mercedes- Benz. “Our cult off-road vehicle has been continuously evolving for nearly 40 years without losing its character of core values. Its DNA is stronger than time and any trend fashion. The cube expresses this to stunning effect and thus embodies the objective for advancing the G-Class.”

The all-new G-Class transforms the beloved vehicle into a contemporary spectacle while retaining aspects customers love. The NAIAS won’t be the only opportunity for customers to view the “Stronger Than Time” display. According to Mercedes-Benz, the exhibit will be appear in other markets where the G-Class is launching.
