Audi Cup 2017
In August, Atlético de Madrid battled three soccer teams — Liverpool FC, SSC Napoli and FC Bayern München — to take home the Audi Cup. Atlético de Madrid, which made its Audi Cup debut this year, won the competition against Liverpool FC during a penalty shootout. Held at the Allianz Arena in Munich, Germany, more than 123,000 fans came out to celebrate the 5th Annual Audi Cup.
In honor of the event’s anniversary, the automaker partnered with Airbnb to create an unforgettable experience for one lucky family: a night under the stars in Allianz Arena. Airbnb not only transformed a section of the stadium into a comfy “hotel room,” but also set up a sideline lounge area for the family to watch the soccer games up close and personal. The winning family arrived to the arena in style: in an Audi A7 piloted self-driving concept.
Guests also could experience the Audi Intelligence Court, a piece of technology that allows teams of two to play against each other in a game of soccer, and the Audi #SuperQ, which virtually let guests race World Rallycross winner Mattias Ekström around the arena.
